Camp Woodsmoke - The Best!
That pretty well sums up how everyone who has ever been involved with our 265 acre camp for handicapped children feels. This camp, located in beautiful, rural, southeastern Indiana provides recreational opportunities to youth from all over the state - free of charge. It is the only such camp owned by a single district in this country. Pictured in the photo from left to right is: International Director Scott Neely, Lion Betty Neely, Lion Dick Getts, PDG Ed Reier, and his partner in Lions - Pearl Nora Johnson.

DG Carl Sharp is
having his vision checked
by Lion Maureen Golden of the Indianapolis Downtown Club during a vision
screening event in Indianapolis. The Vision Screening Program of District 25 F
has been a resounding success. In only its first 3 1/2 months of operation,
1,085 vision screenings were conducted by the Lions of 25 F (not counting this
one). There were 752 adults and 333 children screened through this program.
The total number referred for follow up by professional exams was 455. Total
exams provided by Prevent Blindness of Indiana (for those who were not able to
afford the care) was 42 adults and 87 children, all of which had their exams and
glasses provided for, if needed.
Here is the Vision Van that District 25 F is
using to spear head our vision screening program.
It has an electric wheelchair lift, a large electric generator,
air-conditioning, electric heat, electric lighting, and numerous electrical
outlets to supply power for our vision screening equipment in a mobile
environment. It even makes a rather visible mobile billboard for Lions. Our
vision screening program focuses primarily on the very young and the elderly,
although screening is being done for people of all ages. The principal
advantages that this program offers is its ability to provide immediate results
to those being screened and the ability to go to where the people that need
screening are located.
